                                    About our Hosts

John Shea has lived on the South Shore since he was 10 and has always had an interest in radio. He studied communications and came across WATD when looking for an internship. 7 years later he’s still there working as a producer, music director, public service director and occasional fill-in DJ. His passion for local music led him to pitch the idea of a local music show to station management. The result is Almost Famous Radio.

Lisa Azizian, a life-long South Shore resident, started cutting her chops in radio 3 years ago on South Shore Live, a talk show which airs on 95.9 FM on Monday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and includes a local artist music spotlight. As a young kid growing up in Hanover, Lisa began singing and playing piano in elementary school and has loved music all her life. Lisa joined The South Shore’s Morning News team on WATD in August 2010 as Rob Hakala’s sidekick and her love of all things radio, and all things local, only continues to intensify. It made total sense for Lisa to align with John on Almost Famous, bringing her love of music and the South Shore together with someone as equally passionate about local music. Though she leaves the signing and playing to the musicians now, you can almost always hear her singing along in the studio.
